I get a lot of asks about very specific things, such as the exact time that should be spent on this machine, the exact number of reps for toned abs, the exact amount of calories that one should be eating, etcetera.
So I just wanted to address the best kept secret in the weight loss community: THERE IS NO SECRET! There are so many magazines, supplements, magic berries, you name it, that claim that they will help you “lose 20 pounds in a week!” and all of that jazz. And yes, some celebrity or other may have lost weight doing it that one time before she had to wear that swimsuit for that one thing. But unless you’re going to live on cayenne pepper and lemonade for the rest of your life, just give yourself a break and take it slow! Don’t stress so much over the little things!
Weight loss is a journey, and not an easy one. And it requires a lot of effort. But it shouldn’t consume you in a negative way! As long as you’re keeping your tummy happy with nutritional foods, moving your feet, pushing yourself, and remembering to take time to relax and love yourself, you will eventually see results. I wish that I could give you a philosopher’s stone or a magic potion that would get your body “bikini ready,” but sadly, there’s just no such thing. Just hang in there, stay strong, and don’t be afraid to reach out to your fellow fitblrs!
Workouts are only as good as your last rest day. It’s ok to chill one day, just relax, not be super strict on your diet, and take in all that rest for your next round of workouts.
I just had a shit day. No workout, over ate a LOT. This was literally the most perfect thing I could have seen right now.
