Imagine it’s the first day of summer 2013. You wake up, hop out of bed and tie on a bikini, or one piece, hell it doesn’t matter what you put on because you know you look hot in it. On your way out of your room you stop by the mirror and smile at yourself. You see all your hard work payed off. You finally have the body you’ve always wanted. This is going to be YOUR summer. The summer you’re no longer insecure, the summer you can wear short shorts, crop tops, and swimsuits and feel hot doing it. This is the summer where you can go out all night to do whatever; a fair, a party, or even just hanging out with a friend you won’t have to worry about how you look or what people think of you. Because this is the summer of YOU. So whatever you need to do to get to this point, lose weight, build muscle, or gain confidence, do it. Summer in 25 weeks away. How are you going to feel at the end of those 25 weeks?

I get a lot of asks about very specific things, such as the exact time that should be spent on this machine, the exact number of reps for toned abs, the exact amount of calories that one should be eating, etcetera. 
So I just wanted to address the best kept secret in the weight loss community: THERE IS NO SECRET! There are so many magazines, supplements, magic berries, you name it, that claim that they will help you “lose 20 pounds in a week!” and all of that jazz. And yes, some celebrity or other may have lost weight doing it that one time before she had to wear that swimsuit for that one thing. But unless you’re going to live on cayenne pepper and lemonade for the rest of your life, just give yourself a break and take it slow! Don’t stress so much over the little things! 
Weight loss is a journey, and not an easy one. And it requires a lot of effort. But it shouldn’t consume you in a negative way! As long as you’re keeping your tummy happy with nutritional foods, moving your feet, pushing yourself, and remembering to take time to relax and love yourself, you will eventually see results. I wish that I could give you a philosopher’s stone or a magic potion that would get your body “bikini ready,” but sadly, there’s just no such thing. Just hang in there, stay strong, and don’t be afraid to reach out to your fellow fitblrs!
